January was my first full month of using Framer after I switched my website over from Webflow. As a designer who spends most of his day in Figma, Framer felt a lot more familiar than Webflow ever did. That being said, I’m still finding my feet, learning the ins and outs and discovering what Framer is capable of
Most of the work I did this month was setting up my pages and configuring components like the header bar. I also added the CMS to launch my blog, including playing around with custom fields. I added categories and custom colours that could be used to create the labels you see on the Blog page - they’re fairly simple but I was really happy when I got them set up!
I also spent a bit of time getting to grips with how best to export content from Figma for thumbnails and banner images
That’s about it for January. I must say that so far, this has been the most enjoyable website redesign I’ve done - I’m really enjoying having a project to tinker with for an hour here and there, and it’s much more comfortable not having the pressure of needing to design and build a complete, perfect website before I launch it
